| Eligibility | 1. Qualified examination for B.A. (Hons.) or B.A. (Hons. with/by Research) under the NEP-2020-based FYUP framework being run by the Panjab University or any other UGC recognized Indian/foreign University for admission to M.A /M. A (Research) one-year programme. However, the M.A. (Research) option shall be available to candidates having 75% percent marks in their qualifying degree. OR 2. Qualified examination for B.A. under the NEP-2020-based FYUP framework being run at Panjab University or any other UGC recognized Indian/foreign University for admission to M.A /M. A (Research) Two-year programme. However, the M.A (Research) option shall be available to candidates having 75% percent marks in their qualifying degree. OR 3. Passed a three-year B.A. (Hons.)/B.A. examination with 50% marks from the Panjab University under the 10+2+3 system of education of a recognised University/Board/Council or any other examination recognised by the Panjab University as equivalent for admission to a two-year M.A /M. A (Research) programme. However, the M.A (Research) option shall be available to candidates having 75% percent marks in their qualifying degree OR 4. Passed B.A./B.A.(Hons.) examination under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) with 50% marks and earning at least 24 credits in a Generic Elective (GE)/Multi-disciplinary/minor Course (subject) in the B.A./B.A. (Hons.) Course shall also be deemed sufficient to satisfy a requirement for admission to the two-year M.A /M. A (Research) course in that GE/Multi-disciplinary/minor subject. In case the candidate falls short of 24 credits, he/she may appear for additional Courses in the subject at the UG level to qualify for the 24 credits requirements. OR 5. The candidate having a One Year Post-Graduate Diploma in the subject shall also be eligible for a one-year M.A /M. A (Research) programme, subject to the condition of having attained a minimum of 24 credits in the same subject in his/her B.A.(Hons.) with research/B.A.(Hons.)/B.A. degree. However, the M.A (Research) option shall be available to candidates having 75% percent marks in a one-year post-graduate diploma. |
| Remarks | The candidates should have passed the written Entrance Test (PU CET PG) conducted by Panjab University, Chandigarh Note: Earning at least 24 credits in a Minor/Multi-disciplinary Course (subject) in the B.A./B.A. (Hons.) programme shall be deemed sufficient to satisfy a requirement for admission to the two-year M.A /M. A (Research) course in that Minor/Multi- disciplinary subject. In case the candidate falls short of 24 credits, he/she may appear for additional courses in the subject at the UG level to qualify for the 24 credits requirement. Note: The one-year M.A /M. A (Research) programme shall be available only to students who have opted for either Hons. with Research/Hons. of the same subject at undergraduate level or having a Post-Graduate Diploma as per clause 4.1(v). Note: The relaxation in qualifying marks for the reserve categories will be given as per the latest reservation policy of Panjab University, Chandigarh. |
